This annual competition is over a decade old, and brings together mountain bike enthusiasts each spring. The fast and technically advanced bikers wheel downhill and over cross-country terrain at Englishman River Falls Provincial Park. Sponsored by the Arrowsmith Mountain Bike Club.

Every summer, Parksville hosts the Canadian Open Sand Sculpture Competition, which started in 1982 and has evolved into a Master Sculptor competition. The three-day event draws artists from around the country and abroad. The event is held during the month-long Parksville Beach Fest and participants must register prior to the festival. Sculptures remain in place for approximately four weeks following the competition.

Bard to Broadway Theatre Society presents a summer season of two high calibre live theatre productions. Music, laughter, romance and intrigue will fill their Village Theatre, in the heart of beautiful Qualicum Beach. Season passes are available. Tickets can be purchased from the B2B box office in Qualicum Beach, and at the Visitor Information Centre in Parksville.

Other events include a classic car show, beach volleyball and croquet tournaments, and stage presentations.

KidFest offers plenty of fun for the whole family filled with interactive activities and entertainment. There will be a main stage with musical acts. And over 30 groups are available offering free crafts and various activities for kids under 14 years old, including face painting and crafts. This is a free event.

The Knox Fall Fair is a day for families, food, free entertainment and fun! Join us from 8:30 am to 2 pm for a huge garage sale, children's activities, home baking, silent auction, many fair booths and bargains! Park at Ballenas HS and ride the free shuttle. Limiyed onsite parking for those with handicaps and families with infants. Please leave pets at home. FREE grounds admission. All proceeds to support Knox's work in Oceanside.

This celebration of wildlife is dedicated to the Black Brant geese that take a rest stop along the shore around Parksville and Qualicum Beach, on their way to Alaska from California and Mexico. Thousands of other waterbirds, seals, eagles and sea lions are also attracted to the area during this time by the spawning Pacific herring. The festival celebrates the increased wildlife activity through a series of events, including eco-tours, bird counts, nature photography and wildlife tours.
